What Is Prostate Gland And Why Is It Important To You?

ProstaGenix What Is Prostate in Men

Not a lot of men know what a prostate is or even if they had a prostate. It’s actually quite common since the prostate is not something you think about until you get a bit older. We thought it would be useful to talk about this prostate gland and allow our readers a chance to understand it better. The more readers know, the more control they will have of any abnormal changes and problems. Let’s get educated.

Prostate Gland’s Structure & Function

This is a small gland that is in every men and part of the male reproductive system. Since infancy, the prostate gland goes from being a tiny walnut to a walnut. When a man gets older, the size of the prostate will often time start to grow larger too. This enlargement changes the structure and will hinder its functions. It will lead to one of many common prostate problems.

Normally, it is located below your bladder and in front of your rectum. It surrounds part of the urethra, the tube in your penis that your pee passes from your bladder. The prostate gland helps make some of the fluid in semen, which carries sperm from your testicles when you ejaculate. So you can imagine what sort of problem an enlarged prostate will do to you when you try to urinate or have sex. Typically, you won’t see these problems until you’re 50 or older, but they can start earlier for different men. If you are experiencing any prostate problems, talk with your doctor or nurse to identify the problems right away.
